What is a Tech Stud Print E-mail
Webster defines Technology as: industrial science; the science of systematic knowledge of the industrial arts, especially of the more important manufactures, as spinning, weaving, metallurgy, etc.

Editor's Note: Are these really the more important manufactures?

Webster defines stud as:

  1. a man who is virile and sexually active [syn: he-man, macho-man]
  2. ornament consisting of a circular rounded protuberance (as on a vault or shield or belt) [syn: boss, rivet]
  3. an upright in house framing [syn: scantling]
  4. adult male horse kept for breeding [syn: studhorse]
  5. poker in which each player receives hole cards and the remainder are dealt face up; bets are placed after each card is dealt [syn: stud poker]
  6. scatter or intersperse like dots or studs; "Hills constellated with lights" [syn: dot, constellate]
  7. provide with or construct with studs; "stud the wall"
So ... how does this correlate with our coined phrase "TechStud"?

Lets just say that it refers to someone who is technically virile and technically active. You can also think of a techstud as someone who helps support a technical framework (aka - 2x4 stud). We are also scattered and interspersed (studded) and contruct solutions with studs (techstuds - that is). We have been known to play a hand or two of stud poker but when it comes to technology - we don't gamble.

Techstud is also derived from eTechStudios (by sheer coincidence).

So if you believe that you may qualify as a techstud, then Register and become part of the community. BTW - females can be techstuds, too.
